Butter vs. Vegetable Oil

So this is what happens when butter is substituted for 1/2 the vegetable oil called for in a recipe.  I had to try it-we all know butter tastes SO much better.  But, the zucchini bread wasn't as beautiful as it might have been if I had followed the recipe exactly.

yes i agree with that. I tried to use splenda instead of regular sugar because my zuchini recipe calls for so much sugar and my bread did NOT turn out at all. So now I follow the recipe and try to use moderation in eating it. :)

Well, you tried. You won't know until you try. I recently got some cookies from Whole Foods that Albert had found and raved about. I looked at the ingredients and they used canola oil instead of butter. Interesting huh. I didn't know if I should try that though.

Well, PW keeps tyring things. You don't know unless you try. I did something different on my dinner rolls today and they turned out great. I took a RS class one where we learned about different oils - they heat at different temps - that is why it is hard to juggle oils.
